Monthly drawing of the
Renaissance Heart
You could win a heart sculpted in antique blown
glass, designed by Jean-Marie Rivard, to honour the excellent
patient care dispensed at the Institute.
|
The
Renaissance Heart was inspired from the age-old
stained-glass window-making tradition. Made of glass and
led, the two facets of the heart represent the
professionalism of our staff and the innovative care
dispensd at the MHI.
The heart is on a globe, symbolizing the medical
world, and the median arrow represents our
state-of-the-art technology. The laminated antique
glass was sand-blown, symbolizing both the body's
vulnerability and durability. And finally, the metal
frame was gold-plated to mark the invaluable services
rendered to our world by dedicated workers and board
members of the MHI and its Foundation.

The Loyalty Group
The Montreal Heart Institute Foundation is keen on
recognizing its loyal donors! So throughout the year, a series of
letters will be mailed to loyal donors who have given over many
consecutive years. Some of you have been loyal to us for over 20
years! We want to acknowledge your abiding loyalty to the
Foundation and your generosity of spirit.
On June 19th, 2007, some 100 donors - all members
of the MHI Foundation's Loyalty Group - attended an exclusive
cocktail reception given in their honour to acknowledge their
steadfast support.
(Un group of loyal donors assisting Dr.
Ramon Brugada's conference.)
At the event held at the Institute, guests had the
opportunity to meet Dr. Ramon Brugada, a Cardiologist and
researcher, who presented his work on Cardiac genetics and
on the sudden death syndrome, called Brugada's syndrome. His
studies focuses on the Brugada syndrome , which happened towards
persons of a same family.
Dr. Brugada's presentation was followed by a
cocktail reception during which attendees had the chance to meet
and exchange with Foundation staff. Many guests, some of whom are
former patients of the MHI, used the opportunity to testify to
the excellent care delivered at the Heart Institute.
A second cocktail was also held on tuesday august
14th, 2007.
