The Montreal Heart Institute Foundation grants $6,410,545 to the Montreal Heart Institute

Announced during its annual meeting on June 6, the Montreal Heart Institute Foundation has granted $6,410,545 to the Montreal Heart Institute to promote its development and support priority projects.

In 2010-2011, the fundraising activities of the Foundation of the Montreal Heart Institute brought in $15,281,542.

Thanks to the generosity of 32,000 donors and rigorous management of the 54,000 donations received this year, the Foundation is able to provide a tangible contribution to the excellence of the ultra-specialized cardiology care provided by the Montreal Heart Institute.

Since 1977, the Foundation has provided the Montreal Heart Institute close to $154,000,000. In addition to supporting the Institute’s research projects and technological development, the Foundation supports training, recruitment and retention of nursing staff through recruitment and continued training grants.

The Foundation raises and administers funds to support research, care, teaching, prevention, rehabilitation and to evaluate new technologies at the Montreal Heart Institute. In doing so, it encourages the excellence of an institution that is a world renowned leading-edge cardiology centre, at the service of Quebec’s community.
