 | Two recipients of the 2007 Martial G. Bourassa Grant
Friday, September 21, 2007
The Montreal Heart Institute Foundation (MHIF) is proud to announce the recipients of the 2007 Martial G. Bourassa Grant, which was officially awarded on Thursday, September 20, 2007, at the Jean-Parisien auditorium of the Montreal Heart Institute. The $25,000 grant recognizes excellence in research as well as researchers’ active contribution to the scientific community at the MHI.
This year marked the grant's 10th anniversary.
Exceptionally, two grants were given out in 2007, since last
year's could not be awarded. For the first time, the awardees
were women: Drs. Anique Ducharme and Céline Fiset.
Dr. Fiset's research on the regulation of cardiac
repolarization under physiological and pathological conditions
attracted the attention of the selection committee, as did
Dr. Ducharme's work on the multiple facets of heart
failure: from the lab to the clinic. We are extremely proud to
honour these two researchers and will continue to acknowledge the
excellent work of the MHI team.
