The organizing committee of the Soirée des Cœurs Universels raises $40,000 for the Montreal Heart Institute Foundation.

The 4th annual Soirée des Cœurs Universels, a fundraiser for the Montreal Heart Institute Foundation, took place on Friday, October 7, 2005, at Montreal's Auberge Universel.
The 4th annual Soirée des Cœurs Universel of
the Montreal Heart Institute Foundation generated an impressive
$40,000, in fact doubling its proceeds from previous years for the
first time ever. Organizers of the gala welcomed its 310 guests at
Montreal's Hôtel Auberge Universel on Friday October 7th for
the event.

This fundraiser was also an opportunity to
honour one of the Institute's finest, Dr. Éric
Thorin, Associate Director of Basic Research, who was
awarded a recognition plaque in acknowledgement of
his outstanding research on the cellular changes and
mechanisms involved in the aging of the endothelium, the
layer of cells lining the lumen of the vessels.

The resounding success of this year's event was no
doubt due to its Honorary President, Paul Durocher (Hôtel
Auberge Universel) and to the dedication of its top-rate
organizing committee made up of Ron Deschênes (Autobus
Idéal), Vittorio Di Vito (Hôtel Auberge Universel),
Gerry Guy (Administrator) and Salvatore Migliara (Résidences
au Fil de l'eau).
