 | Another victory for heart transplant recipient, Sylvain Bédard
Thursday, July 21, 2005
Achieving excellence seems to come naturally for Sylvain Bédard. In fact, on July 19, 2005, he won a gold medal at the World Transplant Games in London, Ontario in doubles rowing.
This victory comes only six months after another major
accomplishment when he became the first heart transplant recipient
to reach 6,000 meters in altitude. He established this record
during an expedition to Mount Sajama in Bolivia accompanied by
Montreal Heart Institute cardiologist, Dr. Michel White.
The MHI Foundation would like to congratulate him warmly and
wish him the best on his 2006 expedition to the Himalayas.
