The 5th annual Grand Bal des vins-cœurs was held at Windsor Station’s Salle des pas perdus on Thursday, September 8, 2005. This magnificent soiree, organized by the Montreal Heart Institute Foundation (MHIF), with the support of the SAQ, raised $1 million in net proceeds.
For the occasion, 850 guests responded with generosity to this important annual gathering. Several distinguished guests followed one another throughout this magical evening punctuated with exceptional moments. Among those, the spectacular performances offered by artists from the Cirque du Soleil.
For this 5th anniversary, the Foundation would like to extend warm thanks to the SAQ, with whom she shares a partnership for this event. This success would not have been without their unfailing support. Michelle Mercier, Executive Director of the Foundation, and France Chrétien-Desmarais, Chair of the Board of Directors, were extremely proud of these results and would like to sincerely thank both Sylvain Toutant, President and CEO of the SAQ and chair of the event’s organizing committee, and his entire team for their hard work.
Once again, the business committee demonstrated its dedication and loyalty to the Montreal Heart Institute. The honorary co-chairs, Alban D’Amours, Mouvement des caisses Desjardins, Normand Legault, Grand Prix Formula 1 of Canada and Stephen F. Reitman, Reitmans Canada Ltd. were exemplary philanthropists orchestrating this fundraiser with great enthusiasm. The benefits of this evening will allow the Montreal Heart Institute to remain one of the largest hospital highly specialized in cardiology, devoted to patient care, research, teaching, prevention, rehabilitation, and the evaluation of new technologies in cardiology.
