$10,467,615 for the Montreal Heart Institute
Monday, July 25, 2005

The Montreal Heart Institute Foundation made contributions in the amount of $10,467,615 in 2004-2005. A sum of $1,550,000 will go to the creation of a university chair at the Université de Montréal, while $8,917,615 will be directed toward the Montreal Heart Institute (MHI).

This sum was raised thanks to individual and corporate donations and fundraising events such as galas, golf tournaments, contests and partnerships organized by the Foundation and by volunteer organizations and individuals.

The money will enable the MHI to acquire new, state-of-the-art equipment, fund research projects and establish heart disease prevention programs.

The Montreal Heart Institute is an ultra-specialized hospital centre of international calibre. It owes its standing to its doctors and researchers who provide exceptional care to some 50,000 patients yearly thanks to the highly innovative technologies they have at their disposal.

The Foundation would like to express its gratitude to all its donors, corporate partners and sponsors who, through their generosity, make a significant contribution to maintaining excellence at the MHI.

For the past 28 years, the mission of the MHI Foundation has been to raise and administer various funds to support research and technological development at the Montreal Heart Institute.
