About us

The very essence of the Montreal Heart Institute Foundation is built on the gift of self and the sharing of wealth to nurture a better world, one in which health can be achieved through high-quality care, research, teaching and prevention of heart disease.

The Foundation was created in 1977 by Dr. Paul David to foster the innovative approach and sustainability of the Montreal Heart Institute (MHI). Over the years, the Foundation has donated some $100 million to the MHI, a pillar of healthcare in Quebec, to ensure that it remain a world-renowned, leading edge cardiology centre.

It is thanks to the generous donations of over 50,000 individuals, companies and charitable organizations, large and small, that the Foundation can continue to help the Montreal Heart Institute save lives.
